Meet Our Pastor
A message from Our Pastor
Bro. Ernest & Samatha
Graham
It’s an honor to welcome you to our church website. I hope you will find the information helpful as an introduction to who we are, a glimpse into the church’s ministries, and a pulse of who are as worshipers when we gather as a church family. If a guest to the site, please know of our desire to meet you and have you come and worship the Lord Jesus with us. You will be greeted warmly and feel at home.
Three words help identify our life together in knowing and following Christ. These foundational words are loving…seeking…serving. Each of these actions are best understood as we live in our relationship with God through Jesus Christ
*We love God. The first and greatest commandment said by Jesus (Matthew 22:37-38), quoted from being a summary commandment in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 6:4-5), is the wonderful command to love God with our total being. True life begins in loving God! This life then continues from loving God to loving our neighbor as we have loved ourselves. (Matthew 22:39)
*We seek God. Seeking God is a wise and good response to God’s first seeking us. (Romans 3:10-11) God is seeking and pursuing a love relationship with you! He wants you and I to say, “Yes” to His love that was given and demonstrated when His only Son died on the cross, in our place, for our sins. (2 Corinthians 5:21) If you have never said “Yes!” to God’s love through Jesus Christ please know of our willingness to help answer your questions. (John 3:16; Romans 10:13) Jesus’ promise, if you seek Him, you will find Him! (Matthew 7:7-8)
*We serve God. God is active in His world and in all times and situations (John 5:17, 19). We join God’s active work and follow Jesus’ example when we serve God in helping others. (Mark 10:45) As God leads us to join Him in His work the lives of people in our community and around the world are not only blessed but, we pray, are made aware of Christ and His love.
As pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, we pray and believe God will help us to live up to our name of hope, new hope. That we will be His tools to bring forth His confident hope—by loving, seeking, and serving Him—that so many are needing and looking to experience. We believe that kind of hope is found solely and ultimately in Jesus Christ. May God use us to that end for His glory.
I love being your pastor,
